Moscato Rosa 2016

  • Tasting notes

    Bright garnet red in colour with a delicate bouquet of roses and red berry fruits; spicy, smooth and luscious on the palate, with an opulent sweetness cut by fruity acidity.

    Cellaring potential: 5 – 8 years.

  • Food Combination

    With desserts such as chocolate pudding, crepes, fruit salads or typical Alto Adige’s pastries such as apple and poppy-seed strudel or Krapfen; perfect with foie gras and blue cheese.

    Serve lightly chilled: 10 – 12° C.

  • Grape Variety
    Moscato Rosa – Rosenmuskateller, a variety of Muscat which takes its name from its scent and flavour of roses; from vertical espalier-trellised vines grown at a density of approx. 5.000 plant
  • Location

    Selected vineyards at an altitude of 450 metres a.s.l.. Soils are medium-structured, morainal, dry, sandy and gravely. The microclimate is cool, with striking contrasts between day and night time temperatures.

  • Wine Making

    This wine is produced following two different techniques. One part of the grapes is picked later than usual (late harvest), goes through a cold soaking and the alcoholic fermentation.
    The second part, instead, is harvested in small boxes and left to dry in a ventilated room (appassimento method) until a certain level of sugar is reached. After fermentation the two parts will be blended in together and the final cuvee will age in stainless steel tanks for a couple of months (before bottling).
