It was November 2021 when Martin Lemayr, winemaker of Colterenzio winery, opened a bottle of the upcoming vintage 2018 in a meeting about the white wine cuvée LR. During this meeting several employees, who had never tasted the vintage before, were amazed by the new vintage: compared to vintage 2017, the new vintage was quite different: significantly more powerful and fruit oriented, wisely paired with spicy notes.
Martin Lemayr gathered all the feedbacks and confirmed: "The 2017 vintage was a symphony, focused on the delicate fruit notes and an exuberant acidity. The new vintage 2018 shows a completely different aspect: it has more power, depth and significantly more character."
LR: An exclusive white wine cuvée made with Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc. Colterenzio’ s challenge, every year, is to create this wine from the best grapes from selected vineyards in order to create a unique wine, combining terroir and elegance in their very best expression. What is special about this wine is that each vintage is different and surprising. Because of the specific vintage conditions, always different from year to year, „The 2018 vintage was already powerful from the beginning," Lemayr reports. "The grapes had very pronounced aromas, a lot of spicy notes and fruit concentration. The most beautiful characteristic of this vintage is that the depth and power are paired with an impressive elegance. All this is completed by a very long finish."
LR 2018 – The packaging
Since last year, the has a new packaging. The high-quality box, which serves as a stage for the wine bottle, has now been added with a QR code. By scanning it, the new video and the tech sheet of LR will be played.
